Jurgen is not in panic mode

-

JURGEN KLOPP says his Liverpool players would think he had lost the plot if he panicked after two defeats on the trot.

The Liverpool manager has backed his side to prove they will not crumble after Manchester City closed the gap at the top of the Premier League and Wolves dumped them out of the FA Cup. He has no plans to rip up the blueprint that has served them so well this season and still has them four points clear at the summit before today’s visit to Brighton.

“You don’t lose a game in the first part of the season and then lose your head,” said Klopp.

“That would be bad and not the right thing to do because that’s a moment where your team could sit in the dressing room and really think, ‘Is he mad?’ because it was not that bad.

“It is only for people who are insecure and say, ‘This has happened and now they are going in completely the other direction, they have lost belief’.”

Brighton’s Gaetan Bong says there is no chance that globetrotting Liverpool star Mo Salah will be worn out when the arrives at the Amex today. The Egyptian has just been on two long trips to receive awards. On Tuesday, he headed to Senegal to pick up his second successive trophy for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Player of the Year. Then he was in Dubai to collect a trophy for Outstanding Arab Athlete at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Creative Sports Awards.

“Will he be tired?” said full-back Bong, who will have to mark Salah. “No. I’m telling you, these players are doing this all year.

“They are travelling, going for the sponsor, and they always find a way to rest as well.”
