‘Incredibly drunk’ Scottish Tory in Commons bar grope probe
TORY chiefs were last night investigating claims that one of their MPs groped young men in a Parliament bar.
Scottish Conservatives member Ross Thomson was allegedly removed by police from the Strangers’ Bar in the House of Commons.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed its officers were called at about 11pm on Tuesday after reports of “sexual touching”.
Aberdeen South MP Mr Thomson was said to have been involved in the incident.
Eyewitnesses claimed he was “incredibly drunk” and “worse for wear”.
The Guido Fawkes website reported he was seen “grabbing male visitors.”
One onlooker reportedly said: “I saw someone pull him to one side to ask him to leave.”
Mr Thomson was allegedly led out of the bar several times before police were called and he was then taken away.
The Serjeant at Arms, who is in charge of security within
the Commons, is said to have been informed.The MP reportedly give a statement to police before being escorted from the building.
Mr Thomson could not be reached for comment last night.
A Scottish Conservatives
spokesman said yesterday: “We are aware of reports of an incident and the matter is being looked into.
“We have no further comment to make at this stage.”
In a statement, the Met said: “Police were called to a bar within the Palace of Westminster
following a report of sexual touching. Officers attended and spoke to the parties involved – three men in their 20s and 30s.
‘However, no formal allegations were made to the officers and no arrests were made.”
