Morocco trip for Meghan just before she has baby

- By Russell Myers

PRINCE Harry and his wife will visit Morocco just weeks before Meghan is due to give birth.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are travelling to North Africa at the request of the Government and will stay in Morocco from Saturday, February 23, until to Monday, February 25.

It is thought that Meghan will be around 30 weeks pregnant when she flies overseas.

The Duchess has not revealed her exact due date but told excited royal fans on a walkabout in Birkenhead, Wirral, last month that she expected to give birth between late April and the beginning of May.

It is anticipated that Harry and Meghan will move out of their Kensington Palace cottage into newly-renovated Frogmore Cottage, Windsor, in time for the arrival of their child.

In visiting Morocco, they will follow in the footsteps of Prince Charles and Camilla, who went to the country in 2011.

They were greeted off the

Harry and Meghan in London on Thursday plane at Rabat-Sale airport by Prince Moulay Rachid, brother of the Moroccan king Mohammed VI, and immediately sat down to milk, pastries and dates.

Their visit came as Morocco reached an historic crossroads following Arab uprisings.

Morocco avoided persistent unrest but several people died during violence linked to the protests.

The Queen also travelled to Morocco in 1980 as part of a twoweek tour of Italy and North Africa.

Harry and Meghan are likely to meet King Mohammed and visit top tourist sites. Theresa May has

indicated that Africa has “incredible potential”, leading the continent to be a favoured territory for royal tours. Mrs May has said: “A more prosperous, growing and trading Africa is in all of our interests and its incredible potential will only be realised through a concerted partnership between governments, global institutions and business.

“As we prepare to leave the European Union, now is the time for the UK to deepen and strengthen its global partnerships.”

Meanwhile, Princess Eugenie’s wedding dress designed by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos is to go on display at Windsor Castle from March 1, along with the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik tiara she wore on her wedding day last October.
