Authorities only interested in persecuting the carers

SOME time ago I asked social services for help when I was totally stressed while caring for my husband who was suffering with severe Parkinson’s disease (“Why Geoff Whaley should have been left to die in peace”, February 8).

In my desperation I mentioned Switzerland. The result was a visit from social services threatening to report me to the police and continual harassment to myself and my GP. Did I receive any help? No. Barbara Gunstone,
