No-deal forces freeloading foreign HGVs off our roads
ONE possible good thing about a no-deal Brexit would be the diminishing volume of HGVs on foreign plates, with particular emphasis on Polish registrations, which travel free of charge on our roads bringing products and then giving cheap prices for return loads, therefore undercutting UK hauliers (a haulier friend had to go into voluntary liquidation some years ago because of this practice).
We will also have less wear and tear on our already crumbling road infrastructure. What will Donald Tusk make of that? Brian Clark, Newark, Notts
