Di Maria has a point to prove

ANGEL DI MARIA will be fired up to produce his best against former club Manchester United tonight, according to team-mate Julian Draxler.

Di Maria joined United from Real Madrid for a then British record fee of £59.7million in 2015 but was a flop at Old Trafford, lasting just one season before joining Paris Saint-Germain for £44.3m.

Draxler said Di Maria had spoken to him about the difficulties he endured at United and knows the Argentina star will be ready to produce his best on his return to Old Trafford.

“I was asking him some questions about Manchester United,” said Draxler. “I won’t tell you what he said, but he will be ready.

“He’s a big player. He has a lot of respect for the club. There was nothing terrible in what he said but it was between me and him.

“He’s in good form. We’ll need him, especially without Edinson Cavani and Neymar. Hopefully he’ll have a great performance.”
