Cheryl’s the Greatest helper says her co-star

- By Kelly Allen

SINGER Cheryl came to the rescue when her Greatest Dancer co-star Matthew Morrison’s son fell ill after he first arrived in the UK.

The US star’s son Revel and Cheryl’s son Bear are a similar age and Matthew, 40, said: “Cheryl’s been really instrumental in giving me advice.

“The first week I was here my son got really sick and she was helping me out with who to go see and doctors and stuff like that. I’m really impressed with how she handles everything.”

Tonight Oti Mabuse’s two acts, KLA and Ellie, will compete in the grand final against Matthew’s act James & Oliver and Cheryl’s final act Harry and Eleiyah for the chance to be crowned The Greatest Dancer champion.

Dynamic

The winning act will receive £50,000 and get the chance to perform on Strictly Come Dancing.

Ahead of the final, the Broadway star also took a dig at other reality judges, saying that they didn’t have the skills to justify their positions.

He said: “We don’t know why they are judges and we have to take their words that they know what they are talking about.

“But you see us dancing every week and we are putting ourselves out there – I think it really validates the show.

“It’s one of the coolest things about the show is that we are actually a part of it rather than just giving our advice. When we do give our advice it means more.”

Speaking at this week’s Brit Awards, Matthew revealed that he’s loved every second of his time working with Cheryl, 35, and Oti, 28 – and admitted he wasn’t ready to leave them or the UK behind. The US star, pictured left, said: “It’s been a joy working with those two women.

“It’s a privilege to be in the centre of all their energy. They are both so dynamic and such powerful women, which is what we’re all about right now.”

The former Glee star also revealed that he has been trying to set up a play date with Cheryl and their oneyear-old sons.

“It hasn’t happened yet because we’ve been working so much on the show,” Matthew. said

But he did enjoy night with Strictly a late Come

Dancing star Oti as they headed out after last weekend’s live show.

“We went to some dance place. It was a great night out,” he said.

Matthew previously revealed he’d been surprised to see all the “hate” that Cheryl receives on social media.

He called her the “sweetest” and a “supermum”.

The Greatest Dancer final airs on BBC One today at 7.10pm.
