Boris is a leader who will stand up for his people

-

AT last we have a leader who is charismatic, charming, fun and in touch (“Save free TV, Boris tells BBC”,August 26).

I was pleased to read that Boris has put pressure on the BBC to save free TV licences for the over-75s. He recognises that it is time the corporation got its priorities right.

Boris has the ability to relate to and identify with the concerns of the public, such as the rise in crime, the need for longer sentences and the need for an improvement in social care.

He even managed to raise a smile from the leaders of the European Union and that truly is a first. Cheshire, focused on my formative years. I rounded off by saying: “When our class of 50 pupils left primary school, there was not one of us who could not read, write, spell and do basic arithmetic to an acceptable standard.”

So much for those in the teaching profession who are forever advocating smaller class sizes in order to achieve required standards.

Unfortunately the whole saga of dumbing down education and ill-discipline in schools has been, in recent years, yet another victory for the snowflakes. Get back to basics. going downhill long ago.
