Let’s hope Prue’s got the right ingredients for NHS
IT is to be hoped that the latest celebrity chef, Prue Leith, will succeed in improving hospital food where others have failed. I will not hold my breath (“Bake Off’s Prue to shake up NHS food”,August 23).
As a former NHS nurse of 30 years, I have been appalled at the inappropriate food presented to patients in hospital. It is counterproductive to achieving good recovery.
I wish Prue well but she needs to make it clear that simple appetising food need not cost a fortune and would cut the amount of waste. prohibitive. Is it not possible to retrofit airbags to the hulls which would prevent the ship from sinking in the event of a mishap?
Surely sensors could be fitted to trigger these much like a modern car by sudden deceleration, excess listing, unusual depth of water in the hull or even fire?
This must be a more economical solution than bulkheads which would destroy the fabric of these precious boats.
