Murray in a hurry on Challenger Tour

-

ANDY MURRAY breezed past French teenager Imran Sibille last night as he continued his comeback from surgery at the Rafa Nadal Open.

The Scot, now down at 329th in the world, won 6-0, 6-1 at the second-tier Challenger Tour event in Mallorca to register his first singles victory since returning from a hip operation.

Sibille, 17, narrowly avoided a whitewash by winning the penultimate game.

Murray, below, next meets world No116 Norbert Gombos of Slovakia in the second round today.

The three-time Major winner has appeared in two singles events on the ATP Tour since his operation. He lost 6-4, 6-4 to Richard Gasquet in Cincinnati and 7-6, 7-5 to Tennys Sandgren in North Carolina.

The 32-year-old Murray pulled out of the doubles at the US Open to focus on his singles career.
