Diana’s legacy lives on, 22 years after her death
PRINCESS Diana’s family, friends and fans will mark the 22nd anniversary of her death today with private commemorations and a vigil outside her former home.
Her death in a Paris car crash on August 31, 1997, shocked the world but her appeal to different generations remains undiminished.
Fans are expected to flock to the gates of her former home at Kensington Palace and drape cards, pictures and other memorabilia on the railings to show their affection and respect.
She would have been 58 now if she had survived the crash that also claimed the lives of her boyfriend Dodi Fayed and their driver Henri Paul.
