BANKSY’S biggest work of art – an old lorry covered in graffiti – is expected to sell for more than £1million next month.

The artist spray-painted the Volvo FL6 at a Millennium party in Spain before making his name.

The truck, which shows monkeys and man with a mohican swinging a hammer, then helped ship a circus around Europe and South America for years.

It described the garish lorry as “both a prodigious work of art and a noteworthy vehicle with an incredible story”.

It goes on sale on September 14 at Goodwood Revival, a three-day event held in Chichester,West Sussex. Christie’s is holding a separate auction of Banksy’s work called I Can’t Believe You Morons Actually Buy This S***.

The auctioneers yesterday took a copy of one of his most famous images, Girl With Balloon, to London’s Waterloo Bridge, where it first emerged in 2002.
