Blazing a tech trail
AT THE age of seven, clever clogs Avye Couloute, from London, became aware of the gender gap in science, technology engineering and mathematics (STEM) education and decided to do something about it.
She set about creating opportunities for young people, and girls in particular, to explore computer coding and tech skills.
The forward-thinking 11-year-old organised her own Girls Into Coding event for 15 girls, and facilitated three workshops as well as raising money to provide them all with text books and computing starter kits.
She also blogs about her experiences to encourage young women to give STEM a go.
On top of her Diana Award, she won top tech prize Coolest Projects last year for a voice command robot she built and coded.
