Expect plenty of belly laughs in this witty series from novelist Nick Hornby, starring Rosamund Pike and Chris O’Dowd. Each 10-minute episode sees the leading characters in the pub deliberati­ng where their relationsh­ip went wrong, before they go off to a marriage counsellin­g session.

John Cleese’s exasperate­d Phil and his wife Edith, played by Alison Steadman, continue to cope with the return of their 50-something son Roger (JasonWatki­ns) to the family home.The second series sees Roger trying to halt his parents’ house sale, while a wedding could be on the cards.

The Kominsky Method, Netflix, October 25

The first series of the Golden Globewinni­ng comedy The Kominsky Method earned many plaudits. Michael Douglas plays actor-turned-Hollywood-coach Sandy Kominsky finding his path in later life with good pal Norman Newlander, played by Alan Arkin.

Travels With My Father Season 3, Netflix, September 6

The third series sees JackWhiteh­all and his dad on the road in southeast Asia and Eastern Europe. The duo’s amusing barbs have long kept viewers in stitches.
