Cowell: I had too much Botox...but so did Amanda
SIMON Cowell has admitted overdoing Botox in his bid to look young – but said Amanda Holden was just as bad.
The TV mogul and record label boss, 59, said he was amazed by his appearance while watching old clips of his shows.
As he prepared for Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions this weekend, he said: “I love watching what I call ‘the Botox years’, you know?
“All of us are like, ‘Christ, we had a lot that year. Not so much that year, maybe a bit too much that year’.
“The old clips of us are hysterical, Amanda’s always like, ‘What was I thinking?’, I said, ‘Well, look at me. I don’t look a lot better’. I look all right now, but certain years it was like, ‘Wow’, I don’t know what was going on there.”
Simon was one of the first male TV stars to admit having Botox, which temporarily freezes the face muscles to minimise lines.
The BGT judge had been such a fan of the £350-a-pop jabs he was reported to give co-stars vouchers for Christmas.
Amanda, 48, has previously been open about her use of them but claimed in 2014 she had stopped using Botox.
Despite Simon cutting back on the treatment, he is still a fan of cosmetic procedures.
Last year it was reported that he had a £2,000 Silhouette Soft Lift. It involves sewing bioplastic-infused threads into the face and neck and tugging them taut to get rid of sagging skin.
Simon said at the time: “There’s lots of things you can do. You don’t just have to stuff your face with filler and Botox.
“It hurts like hell but it gets rid of sun damage and unplugs all the crap. For me now, it’s all about having clean skin. If you have clean skin, you look better. But you have to be very careful with some of this stuff.”
He has been showing off a trimmer figure after losing two stone, thanks to a veggie diet and cutting out sugar.
He revealed earlier this month: “People have said, ‘He’s had a gastric band fitted’ but I haven’t. This diet is all about what you put into your body. It’s just common sense.”
