Bonny Enbihaar shines at Donny

- By Jason Heavey

WITH dozens of bluebloods in his care, it would take something special for a John Gosden horse to stand out on the gallops.

But work watchers have always been able to pick out Enbihaar and this beautiful filly is beginning to show her huge potential.

Yesterday she gave weight and a beating to Aidan O’Brien’s Delphinia in a fantastic renewal of the DFS Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster.

The only four-year-old in the race, the Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum-owned filly has now won four of her five starts this season and this was her third Group Two success.

Despite slipping on the bend, she moved up smoothly under Jim Crowley, and although it looked for a moment that the concession of 13lb might catch Enbihaar out, she had enough in the tank to hold on by a short head.

Richard Hills, assistant racing manager to Sheikh Hamdan, said: “John has 100 lots out in a morning and you can pick her out having a canter. She’s got the most beautiful action. She slipped badly on the turn. Obviously it’s windy and perhaps it’s a bit greasy.

“She’s a lovely filly and has done nothing but improve. Obviously, as for plans, you’ve got Ascot (Fillies And Mares on Champions Day) and then Longchamp (Prix Royallieu).”

Hugo Palmer has had a difficult season but he has a nice filly in Powerful Breeze who maintained her unbeaten record in theWilliam Hill May Hill Stakes.

She was given a 16-1 quote with Paddy Power for next year’s 1000 Guineas.
