MY SIX BEST ALBUMS
Natasha, 37, has had a string of hits including Single, Unwritten and TheseWords. Her new album, RollWith It, is out now. For tour dates, see natashabedingfield.com
BON IVER: Bon Iver
(4AD)
I listen to this album on repeat and it always puts me in a meditative state. I lived in Malibu and played it for the whole summer about five years ago. It’s really beautiful.
STEVIE WONDER: Songs In The Key Of Life
(Tamla)
The first album I ever had. I stole it from a library when I was a child and never took it back. It’s wonderful; he was at the peak of his powers. It’s full of great songs and positivity.
BILLIE EILISH: When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?
(Interscope)
She made this album in her bedroom with her brother producing it. She was home-schooled and so was I. It sounds a bit like Tim Burton movie music but with rap. It’s incredible and a gamechanging moment.
AL GREEN: Lay It Down
(Blue Note)
A friend of mine, Questlove, produced this so it’s Al Green, a legend, working with a much younger producer. It sounds contemporary but still feels true to his older classics.
MICHAEL JACKSON: Off The Wall
(Epic)
I wasn’t allowed to listen to the radio growing up so I didn’t hear Michael Jackson until I was 18 and when
I did hear him I was blown away.
I was inspired by his energy. You can’t stand still to this. Rock With You is my favourite.
ASGEIR: Afterglow
(Caroline International)
I listened to this album on repeat during the whole time I was in labour with my baby. It’s magical. Asgeir’s Icelandic and they don’t put musicians on pedestals there. There’s so much good music coming from Iceland.
