GLAMOROUS Jane Seymour led a parade of stars at a fundraiser for the preservation of the world’s oceans.

The former Bond Girl, 68, dazzled at the Monte Carlo gala as she channelled her inner mermaid in a sequinned green gown.

She was joined by singer Gwen Stefani, 49, who showed off her toned legs in a structured pastel blue dress with a sweeping train.

Uma Thurman, 49, wore a chic satin blouse and skirt and Nicole Kidman, 52, rocked in a figurehugging black dress.

The Monte Carlo Gala for Global Ocean was hosted Prince Albert II of Monaco.

For tickets costing up to £25,000 each, guests were treated to a cocktail reception, dinner prepared by a top chef and performances by international artists including Stefani, Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli, and Kool & The Gang.

The event raised money for the Prince’s Foundation, a charity working to protect the environment and promote sustainable development around the globe.

Prince Albert II said: “Above all, the ocean is a vital component for our global balance. It represents 97 per cent of its biosphere.

“It is host to the majority

fthe by of of living species, produces most of the oxygen we breathe, regulates our climate and generates 60 per cent of the ecosystem services which enable us to live.”

Money raised will support the development of marine-protected areas, threatened marine species and efforts to combat climate change and plastic pollution. Robert Redford, 83, was guest of honour in recognition of his commitment to environmental protection. He arrived with wife Sibylle Szaggars, 62.

He said: “The Prince’s tireless leadership in the fight to preserve and protect our oceans sets an example we all should follow.

“It’s our responsibility to work together to overcome the challenges before us in the fight to save our oceans – and in turn, our planet.”

The fundraiser’s auction items included electric motorcycles, a royal dinner at Versailles and an Arctic expedition with the prince.
