Crime: The Khashoggi Murder Tapes – Panorama, BBC1, 8.30pm

Few, if any, deaths over the last 12 months have been as high-profile, murky and complicate­d than that of Saudi Arabian Jamal Khashoggi. The Washington Post journalist died in October 2018 and here Jane Corbin investigat­es the brutal murder inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. She speaks to some of the very few people who have listened to covert recordings from inside the diplomatic building, revealing the full details of what happened.

Soap: Coronation Street, ITV, 7.30pm & 8.30pm

Asha (Tanisha Gorey, above right) starts work in the kebab shop and is soon smitten with a friend of Amy’s who calls in for one of the hearty snacks on the menu. Desperate to buy some more skin lightening cream, she steals her dad’s bank card and orders some on the internet. How long can she keep the secret from him though? It is not a great night for Paul, who tries to kiss Kel but ends up leaving him unconsciou­s!

Drama: A Confession, ITV, 9pm

This, the penultimat­e episode in what has been a gripping series, is the absolute crux of the entire storyline. DS Steve Fulcher (Martin Freeman) is lauded by the media for leading an investigat­ion that recovered the bodies of two women murdered by Christophe­r Halliwell, but behind the scenes faces a disciplina­ry hearing at the hands of the IPCC, charged with gross misconduct. Karen Edwards refuses to give up her fight to get justice for her daughter Becky, and goes to meet with her local MP Robert Buckland to discuss a change that she thinks needs to made to the Police and Criminal Evidence Act. Imelda Staunton (middle left) stars alongside Morwenna Banks.

Cookery: Jamie’s Meat-Free Meals, C4, 9pm

There will be a lot of you out there who are undertakin­g another ‘meat-free Monday’ and if you are running out of ideas each week then this series really is a must. Jamie Oliver demonstrat­es more vibrant, hearty and healthy vegetarian dishes that everyone can add to their menus. In this edition he shows us a flavour-packed asparagus quiche accompanie­d by a silky soup.

Film: The River Wild, Film4, 6.50pm

Don’t watch this expecting an edge-of-your-seat, Oscar-winning film and you will be just fine. It is a gentle action thriller with Kevin ‘EE’ Bacon and Meryl Streep. A whitewater rafting expert embarks on a holiday with her family, but their fun comes to an end when two killers show up. The fugitives’ only escape route is down a raging river, so they take the woman and her son hostage to act as guides. Meanwhile, her husband desperatel­y tries to keep track from the riverbank.
