Originally designed as a vehicle for Diana Ross and Steve McQueen in the 1970s, this glossy romantic thriller was shelved for almost 20 years before Whitney Houston, in her acting debut, and Kevin Costner (who also produced) took over the lead roles.

She plays a famous singer, while he’s the former secret service agent hired to protect her from a crazed fan who has been sending her threatening letters.

There are some great songs too, including Houston’s smash-hit version of I Will Always Love You.
