Meet Ant and Dec, stars of Pup Idol
ANT and Dec take on their latest lead role – promoting this year’s Guide Dogs Appeal.
The presenting duo, full names Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, have had two guide dog pups named after them after fronting the appeal, called Pups To Partnerships.
The duo, both renowned dog lovers, gave a big hug to the pups named in their honour.
The first, an adorable yellow labrador puppy, has been named after Ant, while the playful golden retriever has been named after Dec.
This year’s Guide Dogs Appeal will follow the progress of a group of seven puppies.
Throughout October, the charity is sharing the journey of the puppies as they progress to become lifechanging guide dogs.
The aim is to raise £420,000 to train puppies and help them from birth to retirement.
Speaking of the partnership, Ant said: “We’re so proud to be part of the Pups To Partnerships campaign.
“Not only do we get to meet these adorable puppies, but we also get to hear about the great work that Guide Dogs does.”
Dec added: “These puppies will go on to change lives and give two people living with sight loss the independence and freedom we take for granted.
“We can’t wait to see how these puppies progress.” Ant and Dec remain TV’s golden duo, having fronted some of the small screen’s most successful shows, including Pop Idol, Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, Text Santa, SMTV Live, CD:UK, Friends Like These and Britain’s Got Talent.
They will soon be seen putting stars through their bushtucker trials in the Australian jungle in I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! which starts on ITV next month.
