My Ian’s no Celebrity Jungle bully

- By Mark Jefferies

IAN Wright’s wife Nancy last night played down claims of a bullying row involving her husband in the I’m A Celebrity camp.

Viewers were concerned that the Arsenal legend had teamed up with rugby star James Haskell and appeared to be picking on comedian Andrew Maxwell.

But Nancy said: “I think everybody gets a bit tetchy after a while but I don’t think there’s anything particular between them.”

Asked about bully claims she shook her head and said: “They’re both quite strong characters, I don’t know what more to say.”

Nancy admitted she had been voting for Ian, 56, to do trials, adding: “It’s all a game and he needs to be kept busy.”

In Tuesday’s episode the pair laid into Andrew for taking a nap after his bushtucker trial which won 10 stars. It meant James helped Caitlyn do the washing up, the comic’s allotted chore.

Ian said: “It’s a good job I am not the leader. This won’t be happening, he would be down here doing this. We’re grateful for the 10 stars but at the same time you can’t get 10 stars then clock off. If it worked like that it would be anarchy.”

Ian took Andrew to task, saying: “The thing is, James had to go and help with the dishes because you got the stars, came back, but because Caitlyn wanted to do it you went to sleep. Just do it, it would have taken 10, 15 minutes.”

Andrew apologised but the former footballer was still not happy. He said: “Do you understand what I am saying? I don’t want us in a situation where I am festering.”

Holly Willoughby, who co-hosted I’m A Celebrity last year, said on This Morning: “It’s not that big a deal. He could have done it (the washing up) later, he could have done it then, does it really matter?”

And Brandon Riley said on Twitter: “Am I the only one who thinks Ian is bullying Andrew?”
