SINGING star Cheryl once slammed Nicole Scherzinger’s vocal ability and dismissed the rest of the Pussycat Dolls as backing dancers.

Nicole’s risque reunion with her old girl band on The X Factor: Celebrity on Saturday sparked a furious online backlash from shocked viewers.

There were also 419 complaints lodged Ofcom.

The star’s controversial comeback prompted one fan to tweet a 2006 interview with Girls Aloud, the all-girl group Cheryl found fame.

The MTV footage features a 23-year-old Cheryl delivering a damning verdict on the rival girl band.

“You never get the chance to hear anybody else [sing in the with in which

Pussycat Dolls], so you just assume she is [the best singer],” said Cheryl in the clip.

And when she was asked whether she thought Nicole, 41, had what it takes to go solo, she responded: “I don’t know if she could... I don’t think she stands out as amazing at all.”

The clip which has been liked more than 4,000 times has also been shared by hundreds.

Nicole stepped out from behind the judges’ table to join her bandmates on stage for the first time in 10 years.

The group performed a medley of their hits in racy skintight sheer bodysuits embellished with strategically placed PVC panels.

A CRYSTAL necklace worn by actress Vivien Leigh in Gone With The Wind is to be auctioned.

The stylish piece featured in the 1939 Civil War film when Leigh’s character Scarlett O’Hara is on her honeymoon with Rhett Butler – played by Clark Gable.

It is seen as Scarlett gorges herself on food, while Rhett informs her that he will divorce her if she gets too fat.

Designed by jewellers

Joseff of Hollywood, the necklace features a number of different-sized circular Austrian crystals surrounding five large oval amethysts.

The largest is in the centre of the piece with three of the amethysts having teardrop pendants suspended beneath.

After production of the movie ended Eugene Joseff, the owner of the jewellers, took the necklace back. He would regularly loan his jewellery out to production companies.

The crystal design was worn by Ginger Rogers when she partnered Fred Astaire in the Swing Trot dance number from the 1949 film The Barkleys Of Broadway.

The necklace is now owned by an American collector who has put it up for auction with auctioneers Bonhams.

It is expected to fetch £25,000. Catherine Williamson, a senior specialist with Bonhams said: “It has been very well kept and we’d expect it to do very well at the sale.”

A contract signed by author Margaret Mitchell selling the film rights of Gone With The Wind to producer David O. Selznick is expected to fetch £54,000.

The sale takes place on December 10 in Los Angeles.
