Stop Caroline witch-hunt over assault charge says boyfriend
THE boyfriend of TV host Caroline Flack yesterday claimed she has been the victim of a witch-hunt following her assault charge over a domestic incident.
Lewis Burton, 27, said: “I’m tired of the lies and abuse aimed at my girlfriend.”
Flack, 40, was charged with assault last week following a private domestic incident reportedly involving Mr Burton.
He spoke out in her defence on social media the following day posting a photo of the couple.
Flack was also pictured yesterday for the first time since the alleged incident. She was seen in the Soho area of London.
Mr Burton denied he had signed a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) relating to the relationship. He wrote on Instagram: “This is not a witch-hunt, this is someone’s life.
“I have not signed any NDA. Why would I? Caroline is the most lovely girl. Loyal and kind. She doesn’t deserve any of this.”
Flack’s former fiance Andrew Brady, 29, responded to her arrest by posting screenshots of what appeared to be an NDA from when they were together.
The Metropolitan Police said on Friday that Flack had been charged with assault by beating. Although they did not name the man in question, he was not seriously injured.
A spokesman for Flack said: “We confirm that police attended Caroline’s home following a private domestic incident.
“She is co-operating with the appropriate people to resolve matters. We will not be making any further comment for legal reasons.”
Flack will appear Highbury Corner court next Monday.
