big trial) showed that those who took their pills in the evening not only had better control of their blood pressure, but more importantly, had a 45 per cent lower risk of dying from or having a heart attack or stroke.

So in answer to your question, taking your blood pressure pills in the evening really could make a difference. Changing a morning pill habit can be difficult so it may help to set an alarm reminder on your phone.

If this doesn’t work, taking them in the morning is far better than forgetting to take them altogether.

QI HAVE had cataract surgery in both my eyes, and to begin with my vision was fantastic – everything was so much brighter and clearer. But now I’ve noticed that my right eye isn’t as good any more – it’s as if I’m looking through a slight haze the whole time. Has my cataract come back in my new lens?

AA CATARACT occurs when the lens inside your eye becomes cloudy, a bit like frosted glass, which dulls your vision. Surgical treatment involves replacing the lens with a clear plastic one.

During the procedure, part of the tissue covering the lens – the capsule – is left to hold the new lens in place. The most common reason for vision becoming cloudy again after surgery is that the membrane behind the new implanted lens has become thicker and cloudy, a condition called posterior capsule opacification (PCO). It means that less light is able to travel through to the light sensitive retina at the back of the eye, making vision blurred and sometimes also causing problems with bright light and glare from headlights.

This can occur anything between a few months to many years after surgery and is thought to occur in around 20 per cent of people who have cataract surgery.

The exact reason PCO occurs is not clear but it is more likely to occur if you are younger when you have surgery or if there is inflammation within the eye.The good news is it can be dealt with by laser treatment to cut away some of the thickened tissue. It’s done under a local anaesthetic, should be painless, and only takes five to 10 minutes.Your eye may be a little sore afterwards, but this should soon wear off.

Sports lessons can be tough to enjoy when they involve shivering on a hockey or footie pitch, so equip your little ones with a thermal to keep chills at bay. The Kipsta Keepdry 500 kids' base layer (£9.99; decathlon. co.uk) will keep them dry and warm.

Made from a merino blend and with mesh zones, PhD Run Cold Weather Mid Crew (£18.99; smartwool.co.uk) are designed to keep toes warm and reduce any chance of blisters.
