DIG DEEP FOR OUR CHRISTMAS APPEAL

-

from getting worse. While Vertex’s Trikafta – which can help nine in 10 and is currently being assessed for an EU licence – could be available as early as June.

One UK patient trialling Trikafta stunned the world by revealing it had boosted his lung function from 30 per cent to 90 per cent.

Meanwhile, we can reveal that gravely ill Nicole Adams is stable after being rushed to intensive care last week. The 28-year-old, of

Newtownabbey, County Antrim, has spent weeks at Belfast City Hospital, struggling with just 13 per cent lung function.

We have been calling for her to have Trikafta under Vertex’s compassionate-use scheme.

Medics wanted her to try Symkevi first – but the mucus it brought up from her lungs led to breathing difficulties.

Fortunately last night her loved ones told us she was battling on.

We are urging our kind-hearted readers to donate to the worthy charity and help all the UK’s 10,500 ailing CF sufferers.

Just £15 could fund the Helpline, while £150 could help CF-ers and their families during an unexpected hospital admission.

David Ramsden, chief executive of the CF Trust, said: “We rely on the generous donations made by you and are very grateful for the continued support.”

THIS Christmas we urge our generous readers to make a difference to the lives of people with cystic fibrosis by donating to our worthy Daily Express Christmas appeal.

To donate by TEXT, please text EXPRESS 5 or EXPRESS 10 to 70500 to give £5 or £10.

By CHEQUE, please make cheques payable to Cystic Fibrosis Trust and post to: Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Daily Express CF Appeal, 1 Aldgate, London,

EC3N 1RE. Or you can donate ONLINE through the CF Trust’s website: cysticfibrosis.org.uk/ Express

Your support could be life-changing for people with cystic fibrosis this festive season, thank you.
