TRIBUTES have been paid to the second woman killed in broad daylight on a quiet suburban street.
Teacher Amy Appleton, 32 and pensioner Sandy Seagrave, 76 died after being attacked outside a house.
A double murder investigation was launched after the discovery of the women’s bodies in Crawley Down,West Sussex, on Sunday.
A man, believed to be known to one of them, was found in a nearby house with severe injuries and has been questioned on suspicion of murder.
Among floral tributes to Amy, who taught at nearby Copthorne Church of England School, a card said: “A beautiful lady. Taken far too soon.”
It is believed Sandy may have tried to help Amy while she was being attacked outside her home.
The suspect, is described as being in a “very unstable condition” in hospital.
