Documentary: Meat The Family, C4, 9pm
Forward planning is needed tonight as the 9pm slot is packed with some very good shows – three of which make it into these picks – so some recording is needed. Here, we catch up with the four families changing their meat-eating habits by caring for farm animals in their homes. Film: Super 8, Film4, 6.45pm
Written and produced by the genius that is J.J Abrams, this sci-fi thriller stars Joel Courtney and Elle Fanning. As people start disappearing from their town and the military descends in force, they come to realise a dangerous alien was being transported on the train and is now on the loose.
Thriller: White House Farm, ITV, 9pm
We were spellbound by the opening instalment of this thriller based on the infamous murders of 1985 and will certainly be back for more tonight. What actually happened on that fateful August night is still very unclear so Stan and his number two Mick Clark speak to Jeremy and relatives of the murdered family. The twins’ father Colin Caffell is devastated by his loss and is initially comforted by Jeremy, while postmortem examinations reveal nothing to contradict the murder-suicide theory. Meanwhile, relative Ann Eaton cannot accept Sheila was responsible and discusses her suspicions with her brother. Stephen Graham and Mark Addy (both left) star.
