NOTTINGHAM Forest have been informed they must cough up all of Dwight Gayle’s £65,000-a-week wages to get him on loan from Newcastle.

Forest want to bring in a new striker this month to boost their prospects of promotion to the Premier League.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side are fifth in the Championsh­ip but are very reliant upon Lewis Grabban, who has 14 goals.

They would like to bring in Gayle, 29, from Newcastle after he scored 24 goals on

League appearance­s with Blackburn and Stoke from 2009-2015.

He left for Sevilla in 2015 before a £22million move to Roma.

GORDON TAYLOR is facing a fresh inquiry over “serious concerns” about how the Profession­al Footballer­s’ Associatio­n charity is run.

The Charity Commission describes it as the “most serious interventi­on” it can make and will focus on management of the charity by its trustees, which include Taylor.

The PFA chief executive, above, has already promised to stand down at the conclusion of an independen­t review into the players’ union. Stephen Grenfell, the Commission’s head of investigat­ions, said: “Serious concerns have been raised about the way the PFA’s charity is run. We will examine what has happened and ensure, where necessary, action is taken.”

The PFA charity accounts for year ending June 2018 report income of £26,387,608 and expenditur­e of £24,546,326.
