JURGEN KLOPP has told Liverpool fans it is time to dream after moving 16 points clear at the top of the table. Following the win over United, who were also rocked by the news striker Marcus Rashford, left, could miss two months with a fracture in his back, Liverpool supporters sang “We’re gonna win the league” for the first time at Anfield this season. Klopp, who has refused to talk about the title, relented, saying: “Of course they are allowed to dream and sing

whatever they want… as long as they are ready to do their job as well when we play, then I have no problem with that.

“If our fans would not be in a good mood now that would be strange, so they can sing that.

“Everyone should celebrate the situation, apart from us.

“We will not be part of that party yet.

“I’m not here to decide what they sing – the only thing I can tell you now is we are here to work, it’s as simple as that.”

It is the closest Klopp has come to conceding his side have cracked the back of their title chase. The result means they will have won every home league game in 12 months – 19 consecutively.

They have opened up the biggest lead in Premier League history at this stage of the season.

The manner in which they saw off United yesterday suggested they could end their 30-year wait to be champions again in record time.

The only surprise was the score was not more emphatic, but Klopp said that did not matter.

“We were dominant for large parts of the game,” he said. “We could have scored more, should have scored more.

“But the most important thing is we can look back at the performance over 95 minutes and say we were deserved winners.”
