Drop Sussex Royal brand, ‘billion-dollar’ pair told

- By Russell Myers

HARRY and Meghan are under intense pressure to drop their Sussex Royal brand name over Palace fears they will use their royal connections to earn a billion-dollar fortune.

The couple have already registered the name with intellectual property companies and trademarked more than 100 items from books to stationery, T-shirts to bandannas.

Industry experts said their global stardom could launch them into the stratosphere of the corporate world. But insiders have revealed the Sussexes have been warned over trading on the royal name because it could have negative effects for the family they’ve left behind.

Netflix and Apple as well as a host of US television networks are understood to be ready to table bids to work with Harry and Meghan on a range of projects.

With the help of their global status and mammouth 10.8 million Instagram following, the couple will waste no time in assessing their options of how they can earn their own money.

An insider said: “Their Sussex Royal branding is causing a great deal of issues. They are obviously keen to keep it but as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family in any way or form, it seems they will have to give it up and rebrand themselves for their new working lives.”

Jonathan Shalit, a top talent manager, sees them becoming a “billion-dollar brand” with fashion and consumer products, endorsements and advertising, books, TV, film and company directorships “in return for shares”.
