AN MP who wore an off-theshoulder jumper dress during a Commons debate has hit back at internet trolls who branded her a “hungover tart”.

Labour MP Tracy Brabin launched a furious attack after the “vitriolic” online abuse.

The shadow culture secretary, who replaced her murdered friend Jo Cox as MP for Batley and Spen in West Yorkshire, yesterday demanded people pay attention to “what women say, not what we wear” and angrily slammed “everyday sexism”.

She revealed her shoulder-baring £35 dress slipped down because she is nursing a broken ankle and had to lean on the despatch box after racing to Parliament from a meeting with music executives.

Critics including TV presenter Piers Morgan described the outfit as “inappropriate for the Commons”, while hitting out at the torrent of abuse.

The online trolling was sparked by a Twitter user who shared a

A FORMER judge is being sued for £200,000 in the High Court after a visitor to his country estate was kicked in the head by a cow.

Scientist and teacher Julius Bullo, 42, claims he suffered a “mild traumatic brain injury” when the animal lashed out on Simon BrowneWilkinson’s picturesque 17th century farm.

He accuses Mr BrowneWilkinson of negligence in the writ, which says: “He complains of a somatic [bodily] sensation of having his brain ‘sucked out’, as if his head is being suctioned.

Fearful

“He is easily prone to distraction, feels fearful and anxious and suffers from panic attacks.”

The accident happened in 2017 after Mr Bullo moved to Devon to start a master’s degree in medicine.

He was staying at Mr Browne-Wilkinson’s Lower Woodburn Farm, on the edge of Exmoor National Park.

Mr Bullo claims he was helping widower Mr BrowneWilkinson, 62, load cows on a trailer, when one, aggressive after losing her calf the previous day, kicked out.

A CT scan revealed a depressed skull fracture and photograph of the former actress’s outfit, asking: “Is this really appropriate attire for Parliament?”

Ms Brabin, 58, said: “I was startled by the vitriolic nature of the messages. They are anonymous people often, keyboard warriors sat in their mum’s back bedroom eating Pot Noodles and having a pop at people they don’t know anything about.”

The rebuke came after Ms Brabin responded on Twitter: “Sorry, I don’t have time to reply to all of you commenting on this. Who knew people could get so emotional over a shoulder.”

Ms Brabin, who is currently using crutches and has her ankle in a cast after a fall last month, added: “I always show the House respect. If there was a problem, I’m sure Mr Speaker would tell me.

“I don’t know quite where it came from and I do think it’s slightly absurd.

“You know, we are talking about shoulders. In the scheme of things, when there’s so much to discuss, it does feel a little silly.” surgeons had to reconstruct the bone and fit a plate.

Mr Bullo’s symptoms are said to include memory loss, slow speech, clumsiness, mental blocks, fatigue, anxiety, headaches, reduced concentration and irritability.

The writ says Mr Bullo, whose placements included Harvard and Cambridge universities, will now be “disadvantaged” in the labour market and is disabled under the terms of the

Equality Act. His lawyers say he was a “lawful visitor” to the farm and “it was known that the cow was aggressive”.

Mr Browne-Wilkinson’s insurance company admits “primary liability”.

Mr Browne-Wilkinson declined to comment when approached this week, as did Mr Bullo’s legal firm, Irwin Mitchell.

Before giving up his legal career, Mr Browne-Wilkinson specialised in complicated fraud cases. In the early 1990s, he blocked a bid by fugitive businessman Asil Nadir to have multimillionpound fraud charges dropped.

The top QC’s father was Britain’s most senior law lord, Nicholas Browne-Wilkinson.

Simon’s stepmother is Hilary Browne-Wilkinson, who represented the Duchess of Cornwall, then Camilla Parker Bowles, during her divorce from her first husband, Andrew.
