Clear for Wellens
ROTHERHAM boss Paul Warne says everyone at the club is sticking together as they lead the race for promotion.
A stoppage-time goal from BenWiles gave the Millers a 2-1 win at
Accrington – sparking wild celebrations in the away end and dugout.
“We are a very close club, I think you could see that in everyone, including the bench, celebrating the winning goal,”said Warne.
Coventry remain hot on the Millers’ heels after making it 11 matches unbeaten with a 2-1 win at Rochdale to stay level on points at the top with a match in hand.
But Sky Blues boss Mark Robins feels his side still have lots to learn after conceding within a minute of leading 2-0.
“I hope we can kick on because that was poor,” he said.
Wycombe still have the top two in sight after a 3-1 win over struggling
Tranmere.
SWINDON boss Richie Wellens feels keeping things simple is key for his side’s promotion push.
The Robins moved two points clear at the top after seeing off Grimsby 3-1 with three goals in 11 second-half minutes at the County Ground.
Wellens said: “The first half was a bit drab, in the second half we woke up. We simplified the game, moved the ball quicker.”
Crewe capitalised on
Exeter’s 2-0 defeat at
Northampton to move into second place after beating Macclesfield 2-0.
“It was a thoroughly professional performance,” said manager David Artell.
Macclesfield are winless in their last seven but are still eight points clear of bottom-club Stevenage.
“All that matters is staying up,” said Silkmen boss Mark Kennedy.
