Handy, Andy can bank on his mum

-

DISASTER prone Prince Andrew and Fergie are now mired in yet another mess of their own making. This time they’re being sued over the millions they owe on shares they bought in a Swiss chalet. Why they ever thought they needed a £13million Swiss chalet is beyond me especially when both are past masters at blagging holidays for free.

We all thought they owned that chalet outright but they don’t and they’re now so late on a £5million repayment it has rocketed to £6.7million with interest.

No doubt it’ll be the Queen who, yet again, rides to the rescue of her idiot son and his profligate ex-wife who’ve spent a lifetime shunting responsibility for their disastrous mistakes on to other people.

■ STRICTLY’S Kevin Clifton says he called in a favour from one of the show’s bosses when he asked to be partnered with Stacey Dooley: “I was a really big fan of her documentaries,” he said. Is that what they’re calling them these days?

THERE was a story this week reminding people to be careful during Thursday’s Clap For Carers. It seems there have been peaks in accident rates after our weekly show of thanks to key workers.

And I was nearly one of those accidents last week. I was out on the patio banging a pan with a steel spoon and I was doing it with such gusto that I stumbled and nearly fell down the step. Had The Husband not been there things could have got very messy and I would have needed to burden the very people we were clapping to thank.

AM I THE only person who since lockdown doesn’t count miles to the gallon – but weeks to the gallon? At the start of it I filled the car up and nearly seven weeks later there’s still more than half a tank left. Result!

I THINK it’s worth naming moronic head teacher (and charity boss believe it or not) Louise Carpenter from Farnsfield in Notts who said in the Poultry Club of Great Britain newsletter – Prince Charles is a patron – that in trying to find a reason for coronavirus she’d concluded that it was “nature’s way of cleansing and protecting our planet for the future”. Would you want her teaching your kids?
