Blind loyalty is the same on both sides
FOLLOWING calls for Dominic Cummings to resign or be sacked for allegedly breaking the Government’s own rules, which is strenuously denied by both Mr Cummings and the Prime Minister, surely the same logic should apply to Emily Maitlis (“Newsnight’s Maitlis ‘failed to meet BBC impartiality rules’”, May 28)?
She has breached the BBC guidelines during her opening rant on Newsnight, something that the BBC has freely admitted.
Its official response was that staff had been reminded of the guidelines.
Is this the end of the matter, and is the BBC, as Emily Maitlis put it herself regarding Boris Johnson, going to show “blind loyalty” and stand by her?
