ASPIDER veins occur when the valves in a larger vein collapse, causing a bulge in the vein. The blood then tries to find a way out, resulting in tiny, broken spider veins that can be red, blue or purple and often develop in clusters.
Micro sclerotherapy is the best treatment and involves injecting a salt-water solution into the veins to collapse them. The body then reabsorbs them over the following weeks. But keep in mind, like any vein treatment it is no quick fix. You will probably need four to six sessions of injections spaced around a month apart and you’ll need to wear support stockings after treatment for a week to 10 days.
