Travel: QE2: The World’s Most Luxurious Hotel, Channel 5, 9pm

To those who love holidaying aboard a cruise ship, watching this might feel like torture at the moment, given the travel restrictio­ns around the world. Cameras at least offer viewers the chance to sample life on the most famous ocean liner there is, now a floating hotel in Dubai. Bigger than Titanic, she transporte­d rock stars and royalty and sailed over six million miles, circumnavi­gating the globe 25 times before being retired. In this episode, the first VIP guests are due to check in and top chef Dino and his team have a big event planned – a traditiona­l Burns Night supper for 200 guests. Head of Tours, Peter (left) also gives an insight into life on the ship.

Gardening: Gardeners’ World, BBC2, 8pm

Monty Don (left) reveals the progress of his tomatoes and gives advice on the summer maintenanc­e of ponds. Nick Bailey travels to South Africa to search for the wild cousins of vibrant summer flower the crocosmia, while garden historian Advolly Richmond heads to Alton Towers to take a close look at the Victorian trend of creating theme parks in their gardens. Plus, a second chance to meet a couple who are particular about the colours of plants they use.

Soap: Emmerdale, ITV, 7pm

And here is where it all ends – but how? By 7.30pm, viewers will have an answer. The sinister Malone (Mark Womack, above right) slips into the garage and seeing Will’s car parked inside, he smiles as he goes to plant a dealer-sized bag of drugs in the glove compartmen­t. However, he is spotted and a row breaks out. In the bloody aftermath, a crumpled, lifeless body lies on the floor.

Film: Pitch Perfect 2, C4, 10pm

It’s Friday night so why not kick back and enjoy a musical comedy? A cappella group the Barden Bellas enjoy an unpreceden­ted run of success, until a disastrous performanc­e sees them banned from national competitio­ns and beset by scandal. They attempt to turn their fortunes around and redeem their legacy by competing in the World Championsh­ips Of A Cappella in Copenhagen. Starring Anna Kendrick.

Reality: Celebrity 5 Go Caravannin­g, Channel 5, 8pm

In an extended edition of the episode originally shown several years ago, Colin Baker, Sherrie Hewson (right), Todd Carty and Tony Blackburn meet in the Lancashire resort of Morecambe where they set eyes on their caravans for the first time. After a quick selfie together at the statue of Eric Morecambe, they set off for Kendal to pick up Sonia. However, plans go awry thanks to a puncture. They arrive on their first campsite in Keswick, faced with an unenviable task.
