Crime: Levi Bellfield: 5 Mistakes That Caught A Killer, Channel 5, 9pm

The 2002 murder of schoolgirl Milly Dowler shocked the nation and will remain in the memories of millions of people, such was the breadth of the coverage at the time and since. This Channel 5 documentar­y is an investigat­ion into the case of doorman and car clamper Levi Bellfield, who committed three murders – including that of Dowler. The major question asked is would he have gone on to claim even more victims had he not made a string of mistakes that alerted police? Interviews with detectives, including the officer who interrogat­ed Bellfield, and those with former partner Jo Collings (left), reveal the errors that led to his arrest.

Quiz: QI, BBC2, 9pm

There have been some high-profile names on the QI panel over the years but for variety of personalit­y and knowledge, tonight is just about the best trio there has been accumulate­d on the long-running quiz show. Sandi Toksvig asks questions on the theme of rest and recreation this week, with Stephen K Amos, Susan Calman and Lou Sanders joining regular panellist Alan Davies (left) in trying to come up with interestin­g answers – while avoiding the most obvious ones that come to mind.

Talent: Glow Up, BBC2, 8pm

The contestant­s are introduced to the world of theatrical make-up at London’s smash hit The Lion King, where they try to precisely replicate the faces of the four main characters. Not a job many would back themselves to pull off. To add to the pressure, the guest judge is Ashley Roller, the worldwide hair and make-up designer for the show. Cookery: Celebrity MasterChef, BBC1, 7.30pm

Those famous faces who have displayed enough talent to make it to the second semi-final are asked to recreate one of Aldo Zilli’s favourite recipes. After battling with unfamiliar ingredient­s and techniques, the next task sees them serving up a dish inspired by someone they love or admire – knowing that only three of them will be awarded places in the final. John Torode and Gregg Wallace (above, with Zilli) host.

Film: Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Film4, 9pm

A former soldier injured in the line of duty takes up a new career as a financial analyst for the CIA. However, his deskbound position changes to a dangerous undercover assignment when he discovers a plot to destroy the US economy. Spy thriller inspired by Tom Clancy’s series of novels, although this film was a deviation from the four that came before it, starring Chris Pine, Keira Knightley, Kevin Costner (right) and Kenneth Branagh, who also directed the project.
