Cheaper deals turning us off

MORE than 1.5 million households have ditched their TV and broadband bundles in favour of a streaming service subscripti­on as they offer better value for money.

The average streaming service costs around 23p per hour watched compared with £1.30 for the average TV sports package, a study found.

But while the research by Zen Internet highlighte­d the size of the switch from traditiona­l services it also revealed many households fear missing out, despite the cost.

Nearly a third of those with a TV package said they did not want to lose access to it, even though they believed they paid too much for it.

And sports channels such as Sky Sports and BT Sport were rated as important despite their high cost per
