I will not quit until I’m dead, says Ozzy

- By Mark Jefferies

OZZY Osbourne insists he will never retire – despite suffering from Parkinson’s disease.

The legendary rocker, 71, says medical concerns will not hold him back and that he still plans to go on tour.

Ozzy, who has been in quarantine since March due to coronavirus fears, said: “You know the time when I will retire? When I can hear them nail a lid on my box.

“And then I’ll do an encore. I’m the prince of darkness.

“I’m just a very fortunate man to be still here talking about my life.

“Life goes on. Right now, right here, today. I’m great. Because I ain’t done yet, you know? I’ve got a lot left. We’re doing an album.”

The Black Sabbath star discusses his Parkinson’s diagnosis in a forthcoming US TV special.

He went public about it in January.

Ozzy said: “Well, the one question from me [to the doctor] was – is it a terminal illness? And the guy says, ‘No, but life is.’

“It’s just another thing on my plate I have got to deal with. I’m not in the slightest worried about it.

“I’ve not got any secrets. I cannot walk around with it anymore ‘cause it’s like I’m running out of excuses.

“The initial shock is, ‘I’ve got Parkinson’s!’ Nobody knows what it is. I didn’t know anything about it apart from the name.

“So if you know anyone out there who gets diagnosed, don’t be afraid to ask questions.”

Ozzy has now been performing for more than 50 years having co-formed Black Sabbath in 1968.
