THINKING POSITIVE

Cox has his colt ready for a Celebration at Goodwood

- By The Scout

THE time is right to be Positive in the Ladbrokes Celebration Mile at Goodwood.

After disappointing earlier in the season for trainer Clive Cox, POSITIVE (3.35, nb) is now showing signs that he is recapturing his smart juvenile form.

Admittedly, he has something to find on his recent conqueror Regal Reality at Salisbury earlier in the month, but connections believe a change of tactics will see an improved performance.

Last season he was one of the best colts around, finishing second behind Pinatubo at Goodwood, before beating the 2,000 Guineas winner Kameko at Sandown.

Life has also not been straightforward for the talented and wayward Regal Reality until he was gelded at the end of last season.

The pair will have a serious fight on their hands if Benbatl is ready for his first run of the season.

Mark Johnston can maintain his excellent strike rate at the Sussex track with

SUBJECTIVIST (3.00) in the March Stakes.

The colt only has to reproduce his running when third behind Mogul at this track on his penultimate outing to take this event.

The hard-working HAPPY ROMANCE (1.50) can make a successful step up in grade by taking the Prestige Stakes.

The Richard Hannon-trained filly came home with plenty in hand when successful at York last week.

A pound higher mark should not prevent BREATH OF AIR (2.25) from taking the Brian Chattaway Handicap.

He finished all too late when beaten a nose by Northernpowerhouse at Haydock earlier in the month.

Impressive recent Sandown scorer SEINESATIONAL (4.10) can defy his penalty.

After failing to figure in the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood,

WATAN (2.05, treble) is given another chance at Newmarket.

Hollie Doyle can work her magic with LE DON DEVIE (2.40) at Windsor.

The gelding was unfortunate not to score on his recent outing, having been denied a clear run at Goodwood when third behind Pablo Escobar.

FOX CHAIRMAN (3.15, nap) also suffered traffic problems when chasing home Aspetar at York in July. He also lacked a clear run on his penultimate start when behind Magny Cours at Sandown.
