Thriller: Agatha Christie’s Poirot, ITV3, 8pm

The sleuth falls asleep during a flight from Paris to London, while a female passenger is murdered with a poisoned dart, leaving few clues to the killer’s identity. Poirot soon discovers she was a money- lender, which may provide a motive for the killing. The investigat­ion is turned on its head, however, when the victim’s illegitima­te daughter comes forward to claim the inheritanc­e. Whodunnit, starring David Suchet ( left) as the detective, alongside Jenny Downham.

Health: The Diagnosis Detectives, BBC2, 9pm

Michael Mosley and his expert team of top doctors try to diagnose Andrew ( above) who is suffering multiple seizures every day, although a cardiologi­st and a neurologis­t have different ideas as to the cause. The doctors also treat Carys who has lived with a constant fever for nine years, which causes headaches, nausea and vomiting. This is the last in the series of this compelling medical documentar­y show.

Documentar­y: Inside Holloway: Women Behind Bars, Channel 5, 10pm

First of a two- parter exploring the history of the prison and the crimes of its most notorious inmates, as well as scandals hidden within its walls. The facility was built in 1852 and initially housed male and female prisoners. However in 1902 it became a female- only jail and had a new gallows installed, with its first victims being serial baby killers Amelia Sach and Annie Walters. Suffragett­es imprisoned there were treated as common criminals and when some of them began hunger strikes, the regime’s response was brutal. The programme ends by taking a look at the prison during the Second World War and up to 1948.

Film: Passengers, Film4, 9pm

Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence ( above) star in this spooky sci- fi yarn about Starship Avalon. The spaceship is in its 120- year voyage to a colony planet and is transporti­ng 5,258 people. But it has a malfunctio­n in one of its sleep chambers. As a result one hibernatio­n pod opens prematurel­y and the one person who awakes, Jim ( Pratt), is stranded on the spaceship, still 90 years from his destinatio­n.

Only Connect, BBC2, 8pm

Victoria Coren Mitchell ( right) presents as a new series of the mega- tough quiz show returns. The show, for anyone out there who has not seen it, is based on patience and lateral thinking, with successful contestant­s making connection­s between things that at first do not appear to be linked. In the first edition, a trio of Boston United fans known as the Pilgrims take on the Corkscrews – a team of wine lovers. Prepare to use your grey matter like never before.
