Quiz show: Beat The Chasers, ITV, 9pm

There’s only one way to find out if all those online quizzes paid off during lockdown and that’s with a new episode of The Chase’s spin- off show. One of TV’s favourite quiz show hosts Bradley Walsh ( left) is back on our screens tonight with contestant­s from across the UK taking on Jenny “The Vixen” Ryan, Anne “The Governess” Hegerty, Shaun “The Dark Destroyer” Wallace, Mark “The Beast” Labbett and Paul “The Sinnerman” Sinha, hoping to win big money.

Film: The Man Who Fell From The Sky, Channel 4, 10pm

In 2015, two men made worldwide headlines after they decided to stow away in the landing gear of a British Airways flight from Johannesbu­rg to Heathrow. Tragically, one of the men fell to his death but his companion miraculous­ly survived the 11- hour journey with temperatur­es dropping to - 60C. Richard Bentley sets out to discover why the men decided to undertake such a dangerous and daring mission.

Film: Forrest Gump, Film4, 9pm

This 1994 classic starring Tom Hanks ( left) as Forrest Gump is one of the actor’s most successful films. If you’re looking to beat those January blues, this romantic comedy is a front- runner that tells the story of a slow- witted man from Alabama who doesn’t let his IQ of 75 stop him from living a life full of adventure. Forrest explores what it’s like to be an American football star, Vietnam veteran, table tennis champion and a millionair­e businessma­n, but ultimately he has one goal in mind and that’s to be reunited with the love of his life. The Oscar- winning film, directed by Robert Zemeckis, also stars Sally Field, who plays Forrest’s mother, Robin Wright and Gary Sinise.

Crime: Traces, BBC1, 9pm

A fatal fire in a nightclub proves ominous for Emma Hedges who is returning to Dundee to start a new job. In another blow for Emma, her mother’s unsolved murder comes into sharp focus as she does all she can to bring the killer to justice. The drama, written by Scott and Bailey star Amelia Bullmore, stars Molly Windsor, Laura Fraser, Jennifer Spence and Line Of Duty star Martin Compston ( above).

EastEnders, BBC1, 8.05pm

There’s drama as usual in Walford as a desperate Stacey turns against Ruby as her concern for Kush worsens. Elsewhere on the Square, Martin dutifully defends his wife, and when Ruby tries calling, matters are made even worse when Arthur answers. Meanwhile, Callum’s luck has finally run out and as Jack ( Scott Maslen, right) delivers some bad news, he realises it could be game over. The cracks start to show as Sonia is close to breaking point and struggles to cope.
