Wanted’s Tom: My brain tumour’s getting smaller

- By

THE Wanted singer Tom Parker says his brain tumour has been “significantly reduced” by the intensive treatment he is having.

The 32- year- old star gave fans an update on his progress since receiving a terminal diagnosis of glioblastoma, an aggressive type of brain cancer, last October.

In an Instagram post Tom vowed to “keep fighting” for the sake of his wife Kelsey Hardwick and their two young children.

He shared a photo of himself and Kelsey with daughter Aurelia Rose, 18 months, and two- monthold son Bodhi, as he revealed his tumour had shrunk.

He posted: “SIGNIFICANT REDUCTION. These are the words I received today and I can’t stop saying them over and over again.

“I had an MRI scan on Tuesday and my results today were a significant reduction to the tumour and I am responding well to treatment. Every day I’m keeping on the fight to shrink this *******!

“I can’t thank our wonderful

NHS enough. You’re all having a tough time out there but we appreciate the work you are all doing on the front line.

“To my amazing wife who has literally been my rock. My babies – I fight for you every second of every day.”

The Glad You Came star added: “This journey is a rollercoaster... Today is a ******* good day.”

Olympic gold medallist Becky Adlington cheered: “Yes Tom!!! What amazing words for you to hear! So pleased.” Diversity’s

Jordan Banjo wrote: “YES BRO.” Sharing a heart emoji.

Kelsey shared a follower’s post that said: “Lots of emotional tears this morning.”

She and Tom married in 2018 after more than 10 years together.

But in October Tom revealed he has been diagnosed with a stage four brain tumour.

The photograph he posted was taken just two days before his terminal diagnosis, but he said he had “come a long way” since being given the news that “turned my world upside down”.

Bolton- born Tom described his wife as a “warrior” for looking after their children while he undergoes radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Life expectancy ranges from three months to 18 months after diagnosis, but the couple asked not to hear Tom’s prognosis amid fears he would “sit and count down the days and not live his life”.
