Klopp: We’re working on problems in front of goal

-

something to work on and we are working on it. We hope to change it as quickly as we can.

“In football, everyone wants to see goals and if you don’t score goals everybody talks about it.

“We have to stay focused on doing the right stuff, you cannot force it.”

United left Anfield emboldened after having extended their impressive unbeaten run to 12 matches in the league.

They could even have won the game, with Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson making two good second-half saves to thwart midfield stars Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba.

“I’ve got to be honest, I’m a bit disappointed at the moment,” said United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, right, whose side were last beaten in the league when they lost 1-0 at home to Arsenal on November 1.

“You want to come here and, with the injuries they have had lately, you think you can get a result – but we didn’t. Next time we play them here, after this experience, we can do better. I know that and it’s a good feeling to have.

“We know we have players who can win us the game in the blink of a second and Bruno and Paul almost did.” Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson was again pressed into service as an emergency centre-half alongside Fabinho who, like his skipper, normally operates in midfield.

England stalwart Henderson admitted the league champions are not firing on all cylinders. “I would say that the performance levels haven’t been up to our standards in the past few weeks,” he said.

“We just showed that we have got to keep going, working hard and improving.

“It’s a strange season for everyone this year, I feel. We will not stop now.

“We cannot be too down. Yes, we want to win and we tried our best.

“We couldn’t find the goal to make it happen but, ultimately, there’s still a long way to go, still a lot of points to play for. We’ll give everything right until the end.”
