Schools are the first step

THE announcement that March 8 is the date when schools may start to reopen along with businesses is good news. We are beginning to see a roadmap out of lockdown but progress in this is too slow and it may have been helpful for the Government to have started laying out details earlier this month.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson must not become the prisoner of hardline scientists pursuing a probably unobtainable zero Covid. People’s livelihoods and lives depend on lockdown coming to an end as the population is vaccinated and that must start with a return to school for our children.
