Boost for rural 4G
VODAFONE, O2 and Three have teamed up to build 222 4G mobile phone masts in rural areas.
Work will begin this year and is scheduled to be completed by 2024.
Scotland will have 124 new sites, 54 in England, Wales 33, with 11 in Northern Ireland.
It is the first stage of the £1billion Shared Rural Network, which aims to guarantee coverage to 280,000 premises and approximately 10,000 miles of road.
The trio of operators claim their move will “virtually eliminate” partial “not spots”.
