Jo feels so lucky

JO KONTA has admitted she is “very lucky” compared to Heather Watson as the British No1 prepares to leave quarantine before the Australian Open.

Konta has been allowed out of her Melbourne hotel room to practise for five hours a day during a two-week lockdown, which ends tomorrow. But British No2 Watson, who arrived on a flight on which there was a positive Covid-19 test, has not been allowed out for a fortnight.

“I have been very lucky,” said Konta, “Some players have not left their rooms for 12 days now and one is Heather, who I have been checking in with.”
