PICKS OF THE DAY
Property: George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces, C4, 8pm
Creative property expert George (left) is on hand again as he looks back at arguably his most ambitious project, when he and Will Hardie built a 360-degree, gravitydefying, rotating home inspired by vintage science fiction comics. In search of inspiration for this seemingly impossible challenge, George travelled to Europe, visiting Holland, Germany and then the local fairground for inspiration. So does the property impresario manage to make it all happen?
Soap: EastEnders, BBC1, 7.35pm
Another tense episode from Walford’s Albert Square. Horrifying scenes unfold when Denise (Diane Parish, left) confronts Lucas and his facade slips, leading him to snap, with a panicked Vinny interrupting Chelsea (Zaraah Abrahams, right) and Jack after seeing blood at the flat. Meanwhile, a desperate Billy goes on a job hunt and Mick is left worried about Tina. Elsewhere, Phil refuses to help Kathy find her missing son.
Film: Jaws, ITV4, 9pm
A New England seaside town’s tourist season is turned into a nightmare by a killer shark in this enduring thriller. The local police chief’s efforts to protect the general public are thwarted by a greedy mayor, forcing him to join forces with an eccentric fisherman and a keen marine biologist to hunt and kill the monster predator. Steven Spielberg’s classic, starring Roy Scheider (far left, with Robert Shaw). Peter Benchley’s pulp bestseller is here turned into the scariest sea saga ever filmed, with Spielberg creating maximum suspense in the first dark moments and then maintaining the momentum with his brilliant sleight-of-hand direction and tense ending.
Comedy: Back, C4, 10pm
Stephen is on a health kick, cycling everywhere and making Ellen believe that he is back to normal. Meanwhile Cass, who is doing a part-tme A-level course, decides to live the full university experience by moving into a shared student house, while Andrew is suspicious of Geoff’s new partner and asks Alison to help him investigate. Comedy, starring David Mitchell (above) and Robert Webb.

But Jamie is unaware young Kyle is playing hide and seek in the barn as he begins to douse the place in petrol. Will Mack realise in time? Meanwhile, David makes a suggestion to Pollard and Matty’s scared of rejection. In the second episode, Moira is furious – and armed. Meanwhile, Gabby is in a flirty mood.
