Comedy: Back, C4, 10pm

In tonight’s episode of Simon Blackwell’s satirical sitcom, Stephen is dismayed when Ellen and Julian announce their engagement, while Geoff’s relationsh­ip crumbles before his eyes and he faces having to sell his farm and move away. Elsewhere, Andrew ruffles a few feathers when he persuades Alison’s parents to make a huge life-changing decision. Alison, of course, isn’t happy and conspires a plan with Stephen to deal with Andrew for good. The comedy stars Louise Brealey and acclaimed duo Robert Webb and David Mitchell (all left). Despite working together for more than two decades, Mitchell and Webb’s on-screen chemistry is stronger than ever.

Soap: EastEnders, BBC1, 7.35pm

It isn’t often that Phil Mitchell gets in over his head but with the evidence stacked against him, he’s struggling to see how he can get himself out of this one – and things only get worse when Max starts piling on the pressure. Meanwhile, Linda is seething after realising that Jack (Scott Maslen, left) told his brother about Mick’s abuse. Elsewhere, Martin seeks advice from Kush after Iqra’s revelation about Ruby, and Jean and Sharon have a laugh at Suki’s expense.

Drama: Death In Paradise, BBC1, 9pm

It’s the series finale tonight which means at-home detectives are in for a treat. An unknown man staggers into the police station and confesses to killing his boss, despite having no recollecti­on of how, where or when he committed the crime. DI Parker, however, is unconvince­d and sets out to uncover the truth behind the murder. Starring Joséphine Jobert, Tobi Bakare and Ralf Little (all above).

Soap: Emmerdale, ITV, 7pm

Tracy (Amy Walsh, above) cuts herself on the kitchen but a squeamish Nate could be the one who is in need of help after he faints at the sight of her blood. Elsewhere, Gabby’s life is about to change forever when she finds out she’s pregnant with Jamie’s baby. This could be her chance to trap him but with Jamie more interested in Dawn, Gabby could have a tough task ahead of her if she wants him to commit.

Film: Valkyrie, Film4, 9pm

This gripping thriller is based on real historic events from the Second World War. Set in Nazi Germany in 1944, a group of senior German officers recruit war hero Colonel Claus von Stauffenbe­rg (Tom Cruise, right) to assassinat­e Adolf Hitler. As the war turns in favour of the Allies, the officers’ desperate attempt to spearhead the Führer’s life using a briefcase bomb doesn’t quite go to plan. The thrilling dramatisat­ion also features Sir Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy and Tom Wilkinson.
